Basta is an Egyptian-Irish visual artist exploring human connection, and individual empowerment through fragmented figurative cubist forms. Using bold shapes and expressive compositions to evoke raw emotions.
She holds BFA and was trained in various artistic disciplines.
Her Egyptian heritage deeply informs her style, inspired by ancient Egyptian art and Coptic iconography (wide eyed figures, structured compositions, and vibrant palettes) she was captured by the art of storytelling and symbolism where each piece becomes a layered narrative of empowerment, emotion, and cultural reflection.
After years as a graphic designer, Basta moved to Ireland in 2018 and embraced oil painting. This shift allowed her to break away from rigid commercial constraints and develop her distinct artistic voice.
Since then, She has been exhibiting internationally and her work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions all across Ireland, in addition to major international art fairs in Germany, Italy and Ireland with 85% sales .
Through her paintings, she invites viewers to engage with deep emotions told through a fragmented and sometimes symbolic lens.
